Quilts of Valor to Honor Jim Alford at Arapahoe County Fair
July 30 at Noon in the Main Hall (indoors)
Arapahoe County Fairgrounds Event Center | 25690 E. Quincy Ave., Aurora, CO 80016
We are delighted to let you know that longtime Plum Creek KC member Jim Alford will be honored with a Quilts of Valor ceremony at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds on Sunday, July 30 at Noon. Tickets can be purchased either online (www.arapahoecountyfair.com) or at the gate.

The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. You can learn more about this wonderful way to recognize the service of our country’s veterans by going to their website: https://www.qovf.org.

Jim was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard for many years. He was stationed at Buckley Air Force Base and served in Greenland, Turkey, Panama, The Netherlands and other places.

For PCKC, Jim was the editor of our newsletter and Corresponding Secretary.

Jim and JoAnn were on the Fair Planning Committee for the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds and were instrumental in the planning and opening of the Event Center.

The Cherry Creek Chorale, who Jim sang with, will be there to sing the National Anthem. Of course, there are also all the other activities of the Arapahoe County Fair, which opens this weekend, to enjoy.

Due to Jim’s recent health issues, we have missed seeing Jim and JoAnn at our meetings and events, so that is just another reason to come out and honor Jim on this wonderful occasion.

Thank You to a Great Champion and Owner Marlene Groves   Way to Go "Team MacGee" at Terry-All and Scottsbluff

So you wonder what does Sebastian do now since he is retired from showing... Well, you have seen him at schools, libraries, senior homes, and doing a variety of therapy and public education - - but when you are also this insanely handsome, squishy, and willing to do just about anything, you are sometimes called for interesting modeling assignments... If he was in California he'd surely be in the movies... ENJOY, the one & only, SEBASTIAN the bloodhound!!!

Great Wins for "Molly" and Fran Strayer at Terry-All

Below is a lovely "thank you" from the 4-H cleanup and helper crew that was at the Plum Creek Classic show in February. These kids were totally awesome, as anyone there will agree. We will certainly welcome these kids back next year. They have become an integral part of our Show Team.
